My awareness of the importance of health originated from growing up with close family members unwell. This experience sparked an interest in alternative approaches to health and wellbeing, and in 2002 I travelled to India where I studied Ayurvedic medicine, massage and yoga. On return to England, I decided to have acupuncture treatments for a health problem at the time and the results were incredible. I began reading about Chinese Medicine and the way they view the body and health made so much sense to me, it felt like this was the thing I had been searching for. I decided to do a degree in Chinese Medicine at the University of Westminster in London and I graduated in 2009.
Chinese medicine is a remarkable philosophy and a continual source of inspiration in my life. Having gained so much for myself and my families health from this philosophy, I feel passionate about sharing this knowledge with others and supporting people on their journey to better health.
As a mother to four young children, and after four home births, I have lots of first-hand experience in how to support the whole family's health. I am passionate about women's health, including menstrual disorders and pregnancy; acupuncture can be a great resource in both the preparation for birth, and the postnatal period. I have a postgraduate paediatric training and love to treat children at the Blossom Tree Children’s Clinic.
Another area of my expertise is the Chinese Medicine approach to diet, nutrition and cooking. I find that integrating dietary advice into treatments allows patients to be more actively empowered in their own healing.
I am a very intuitive person and I am committed to holding a gentle and healing space where people can come back to themselves and connect to a deeper sense of wellbeing.
